Our Publishing Approach
Labi Books is an independent UK-based publisher specialising in progressive non-fiction history and social development.
The press was established to support serious historical and social research outside commercial trend cycles and institutional gatekeeping. We prioritise depth, clarity, and evidential rigour over speed and scale.
Editorial Approach
We publish work that:
- Challenges orthodox interpretations
- Centres labour, material conditions, and structural analysis
- Engages critically with historiography
- Connects past developments to present realities
Our books are edited and produced to professional publishing standards and remain accessible for long-term scholarly and public use.
Independence & Control
Labi Books operates independently and retains full editorial control of its catalogue. We do not publish on a pay-to-publish or subsidy basis.
Authors retain copyright. We license the rights necessary to publish, distribute, and maintain their work in agreed formats and territories.
Future Imprint
While our primary focus is non-fiction history and social development, we may consider fiction through a separate imprint where it aligns with our intellectual principles.
